A disability provider's website should be the accessible one
This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Where we fall short, we want to know, and we will fix it rather than explain it away.
What we have built in
- Body text set at 17px and above, with line height of 1.65 or more
- Colour contrast meeting WCAG 2.2 AA for all text and interface controls
- Every interactive control at least 44 by 44 pixels with clear spacing
- A visible, high contrast focus ring on every focusable element
- Full keyboard operation, including the navigation menu and all forms
- A skip to main content link as the first item in the tab order
- Motion reduced to nothing when the device asks for reduced motion
- Form labels always visible, never placeholder only, with errors beside the field
- Meaningful alternative text on images, and no information carried by colour alone
- Headings in a logical order, and landmarks so screen readers can jump around
What we are still working on
- Easy Read versions of our service information and service agreement
- Auslan video introductions to each support type
- Translated key pages for the most commonly spoken languages in Darwin
