Free, and at your place

What we do

Eight supports, built around one plan

Most people start with one or two of these and add more as their plan changes. You can mix them freely, and you are never locked into a bundle.

Household Tasks

A home that stays on top of you less and works for you more.

Support Coordination

Someone whose job is to make your whole plan work, not just one part of it.

Why families choose us

The things that actually go wrong, and what we do about them

Ask anyone who has used disability supports for a while and the complaints are always the same. Here is our answer to each of them, in writing.

More about how we work
  • You meet your workers before they start

No stranger turns up at your door unannounced. We introduce the team, and if the match is wrong we change it without making it awkward.

  • We turn up, and we tell you if we cannot

Shifts are confirmed in advance. If something changes we call you before the shift, not after it. Reliability is the whole job.

  • Every worker is screened and trained

We require NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children clearance where relevant, first aid, manual handling and NDIS Code of Conduct training before a first shift. The Code of Conduct binds every NDIS provider, registered or not.

  • Culturally safe support in the Top End

We support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, and people from the many communities that make up Darwin, in the way each person asks to be supported.

Getting started

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them

Nothing is charged and nothing is signed until you have seen the full cost in writing.

  1. 01About 15 minutes

    Tell us what you need

Call, email or send the enquiry form. We will ask a few practical questions about your plan, your goals and the supports you are after. No obligation, and no pressure to sign anything.

  2. 02Within 5 business days

    Meet us, free of charge

We come to you, at home or somewhere you feel comfortable, and we go through what support would actually look like week to week. Bring a family member, an advocate or your support coordinator.

  3. 03Your timeframe

Agree the plan and the price

You get a written service agreement and a schedule of supports, priced to the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements. Read it, take it away, ask questions. Nothing starts until you say yes.

  4. 04Ongoing

Supports begin, and we keep checking

Your team starts. We check in at two weeks and again at six, and we review formally before your plan reassessment so your next plan reflects what has actually changed.

Local, not national

We only work in the Top End, and that is the point

Distance, heat and the wet season are not edge cases here, they are the operating conditions. A roster written in another state does not survive contact with a Humpty Doo road in February.

Common questions

Answers, before you have to ask

Not covered here? Call us on 1300 391 319 and ask. No script, no sales pitch.

Is Top End Care a registered NDIS provider?

Our NDIS registration is in progress. Until it is approved we work with self managed and plan managed participants, which the NDIS allows. If your plan is NDIA managed we cannot take you on yet, and we will tell you that straight away rather than waste your time. We will also tell you when registration comes through.

Which participants can you work with right now?

Self managed and plan managed participants, and people paying privately. If you are NDIA managed, you can only use registered providers, so we are not an option for you yet. Changing to plan management is free and does not come out of your other budgets, and you can ask for it at your next plan reassessment.

Is an unregistered provider held to the same standards?

The NDIS Code of Conduct applies to every NDIS provider and every worker, registered or not, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission takes complaints about unregistered providers on 1800 035 544. What registration adds is an independent audit against the NDIS Practice Standards, which we are going through now.

How quickly can supports start?

For most services in the greater Darwin area we can usually have a first meeting within five business days and supports running shortly after. Overnight and complex supports take longer because we will not start them without the right staff in place.

What if I do not get along with my support worker?

Tell us and we will change it. You will not be asked to justify the decision and it will not affect your service in any other way. Getting the match right is our job, not yours.

Do you travel outside Palmerston and Darwin?

We are based in Palmerston and cover the greater Darwin region and the rural area as standard. Travel to Katherine and to remote communities is available by arrangement, subject to staffing and the travel funding in your plan.

Let us work out what good support looks like for you

One conversation, no obligation, and a straight answer about whether we are the right fit. If we are not, we will tell you who might be.
